On 19th/January/2016, UFMI celebrated ten years since the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act 2006 was signed with the appeal to government to implement the law to fight film piracy in Uganda.

The Function was graced by Dr. General Julius Oketa, who represented the President of Uganda and  URSB Registrar General, Mr. Bemanya Tumwebaze who promised government intervention in implementing the law. The function was at Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC)
